ICSCRM is a leading international forum for advances in silicon carbide and related wide-bandgap semiconductors, bringing together researchers, engineers, and industry experts from around the world. The conference provides a forum for discussing the latest scientific developments, technological innovations, and applications in areas such as power electronics and quantum technologies.
This year, ICSCRM will take place in Yokohama, Japan from September 27 to October 2, 2026. Following our participation in previous conferences, FAIRmat will once again join the exhibition with a booth, where visitors can discover how the open-source NOMAD platform supports research data management and enables FAIR data practices in silicon carbide and materials science.
FAIRmat Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Michael Krieger (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg) will also deliver a plenary lecture "Point Defects in Silicon Carbide: From the Characterization of Dopants and Deep Traps to Quantum Systems and F.A.I.R. Research Data".

The Research Data Day @ BUA brings together researchers from the Berlin University Alliance to exchange experiences, discuss best practices, and strengthen research data management across disciplines. The event offers a platform for networking and community building, with contributions from researchers and research support services across the four BUA partner institutions.
All interested parties – doctoral candidates, researchers, lecturers, and other members of the Berlin University Alliance – are invited to contribute to the program by presenting their own data-driven projects.
The FAIRmat team will gather in Berlin from October 28 to 30, 2026, for the FAIRmat II Kick-off Meeting, marking the beginning of the consortium’s second funding period.
The meeting will bring together PIs, coworkers, and close collaborators to celebrate the next stage of the project, discuss priorities and strategic goals, and plan the work ahead. It will provide an opportunity to build on the achievements of the first funding period, strengthen collaboration across the consortium, and set the direction for FAIRmat II.
For the third time, the Base4NFDI User Conference (UC4B2026) will bring together the NFDI community to discuss the development, integration, and sustainable operation of cross-disciplinary research data management (RDM) services. Organized by Base4NFDI – the joint initiative of all 26 NFDI consortia – the conference provides a platform for users, developers, and infrastructure providers to exchange experiences and shape the future of shared RDM services.
The 2026 program will feature hands-on sessions, incubator presentations, and discussions on strategic topics, such as operating models. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with stakeholders from across the NFDI, increase the visibility of their work, and explore how basic services can be successfully adopted and integrated within research communities.
FAIRmat will contribute to the conference with the following presentations:

FAIRmat will participate in the joint NFDI4Cat & NFDI4ING #CuttingEdge Conference 2026, taking place at DECHEMA-Haus in Frankfurt am Main.
Bringing together communities from catalysis and engineering, the conference will provide a platform for exchange, collaboration, and discussions on the digital transformation of science. FAIRmat will be present with an exhibition stand, where participants can learn more about NOMAD, discover our tools and services, meet members of the FAIRmat team, and discuss opportunities for collaboration.
